Yesterday (December 14th 2025) we attended a track day event organized by LOTUS to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the company (and I suppose to try and sell us one of the new electric models that most people don't care about). It took place in the Crystal Room in one of the pit buildings in Fuji Speedway.
The schedule included some exhibition laps around the circuit showcasing some of the classic formula cars and then some classic models. After that there were Emira-only laps (with speeds limited to 120km/h) and an actual race open to all cars. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible. It was cold, it had been raining all day, and there was a thick fog. That's probably why attendance was so low. I didn't stay for the race events because I was unable to sleep the night before and needed a nap. In any case, it was nice to meet friends again and to see some of the classics getting ready in the pit! Among the cars we could see there were: an Elan SE (my favorite, even the color!), an Eleven, a Mark VIII, a Type 38, a Lotus 69 Formula Ford, and a Lotus 59.
